If a goal or other events were incorrectly assigned to the opposing team, it's likely due to the team sides being set up incorrectly in the system. This guide explains how Veo uses default team positioning and shows you how to correct side and period settings so your match data accurately reflects what happened on the field. It also includes important tips on what to avoid to ensure automatic corrections work properly.
Why this happens
Before jumping into manual adjustments, it helps to understand how Veo handles team sides and events:
- The system assumes your team starts on the left in the 1st period and switches to the right in the 2nd.
- Match events—like goals —are tagged based on this default setup. So if your team started on the right and the opposition on the left, events might be assigned to the wrong team.
How to fix it
The key here is to update sides and periods before editing any individual events. Doing this allows the system to auto-correct the team assignments for all tagged events.
Steps to follow:
- Go to the Sides and Periods section in the events feed.
- Adjust the sides to reflect how the teams were actually positioned during the game.
- Click Save.
Once saved, the system will reassign events to the correct teams—as long as they haven’t been manually edited.
What to avoid
Try not to manually edit individual events before updating the sides and periods.
When you manually edit an event, the system assumes you’ve already made corrections and won’t update that event automatically later.
To get better results, always fix sides and periods first.
