How to Upload a Veo Go Recording

Uploading your Veo Go recording is the final step before your match is processed and ready to watch. Each camera phone stores half of the recording, and both need to upload their footage over WiFi. This guide walks you through the upload process, storage requirements, and best practices to ensure a smooth and successful upload.

Important Note:

Veo Go is currently available only in the UK and is compatible exclusively with iPhones.

Step-by-Step Upload Process

  1. Recording Storage: When you stop the recording, each camera phone saves half of the match inside the Veo Go app.

    Caution

Do not delete the Veo Go app from any phone before the upload is complete.
If you do, the recording stored on that phone will be permanently lost, and it will not be possible to recover or upload the match.

  2. Connect to WiFi:
    • Each camera phone needs a WiFi connection to upload the footage.
    • They don’t need to be on the same WiFi network.
    • Uploads can happen at different times.
  3. Start the Upload: Each phone must manually start the upload in the Veo Go app.
  4. Mobile Data Restriction: Uploading over mobile data is not allowed due to the large file sizes.
  5. Monitor Upload Progress:
    • The controller device tracks whether the uploads have started.
    • The controller gets a notification when both uploads are complete.
  6. Free Up Storage:
    • The recordings are saved inside the Veo Go app but use storage on the phone.
    • Once the upload is complete, the recording is removed from local storage, freeing up space.

Storage Requirements

The amount of storage required depends on the length of the recording. As an example:

  • A 1.5-hour recording takes up about 6 GB of storage on each camera phone.
  • During the upload, the system temporarily needs another 6 GB for caching.
  • In total, each phone requires around 12 GB of free space to complete the upload.
  • Once the upload is finished, the temporary storage clears, and the original recording is removed from your device.

Note: If your recording is longer, make sure you have enough free storage before starting the upload.
