Streaming destination: How to Live stream to YouTube.

To live stream, you need to have the Veo Live add-on subscription.

 

In this article, you will find information about how to livestream to YouTube using a Veo Cam.

 

Step 1: Setup YouTube as a Streaming Destination.

  1. First, you need to configure which YouTube account you want to stream to.

    To do this, go to your Veo account at app.veo.co and select Veo Live in the left-sided menu. This will bring you to the Streaming Destinations page.

  2. Then click Setup next to the YouTube icon.

    Here you need to add a stream key. A stream key is a small piece of code that allows the Veo Cam to connect to YouTube and send the stream to the correct YouTube account.Enter stream key Youtube.png

     

  3. To find your stream key, go to https://studio.youtube.com/ and log in to the YouTube account you want to stream to. Click on Create and then click on Go Live.

    Note:

    You will be asked to request access to Streaming on Youtube. Once requested, it may take up to 24 hours to get access to live streaming. You need to request access only once.

  4. You will now see an overview like the one below. Go to stream key (paste into encode) and copy the stream key.copy stream key - youtube.png

     

  5. Go back to the Streaming Destinations page on app.veo.co and paste the stream key into the open text field. Click on Confirm.

    Note

    There is a toggle that allows you to request the stream key when starting the live stream via the Veo Camera App. If turned on, this will allow you to paste in different stream keys for different streams, which effectively allows you to stream individual games to different YouTube channels.

 

Step 2: Start the livestream.

With the setup done, you are now able to start a livestream.

  1. First go to YouTube.com and start a live stream by clicking the camera icon and selecting Go live.

  2. Now, you can give a title to the stream to make it easier for fans to find the live stream. To do that, click on the Edit button next to the title section.Edit title.png

     

  3. Next up, you need to start the live stream via the Veo Cam.

    Connect to the camera via the Veo Camera App, make sure the camera is connected to an internet source, and click on Go Live.

  4. Next add the Match Details and click Next.

  5. In the next step, select YouTube as your streaming destination and click Next.Youtube.png
    NOTE: If during the setup you selected “Request stream key when starting live stream”, the Veo Camera App will ask you to add that Stream Key in this step.

     

  6. Finally, Swipe to go Live to start the live stream.

     

The camera is now live streaming to YouTube! Go to your YouTube account to see the live stream. Keep in mind that there is a delay of around 60 seconds until the stream is viewable on YouTube.

 

To Finish the live stream, click on Stop livestream in the Veo Camera app. This will automatically stop the livestream on YouTube.
